Are you an artist or highly creative person who is
experiencing any of the following?

• Procrastination, avoidance and/or lack of focus
• Easily overwhelmed by a flood of ideas
• Self-doubt or self-criticism
Highly sensitive to your environment, feelings & others
• Depression and/or anxiety
• Feel your work is discounted by friends and family
• Difficulties in professional or personal relationships
• A lack of self-confidence that keeps you from doing your art
• Frequent shifts in moods
• Feel your creative personality is misunderstood by others
• Difficulty managing the intensity of your personality in relationships
• Being highly productive and suddenly idle for weeks at a time
• Feel different from others, lonely or alienated
• Difficulty expressing your full creative potential
• Highly perceptive and easily over stimulated
• Experiences periods of Creative Block

Have any of these issues hindered your creative success, personal relationships or daily functioning? If so, it’s natural to self-judge, which can leave you feeling alienated, unproductive and conflicted.

With 25 years in the field of arts and knowledge of the creative personality, I understand the unique qualities and struggles of the artist. It’s common for artists to avoid therapy for fear it might rob them of their creative drive. However, by honoring your need to preserve who you are as an artist, I can help you achieve a more balanced inner and out life, without squelching your creative energy.

I believe within you lies an innate and powerful motivation to move towards personal growth. I can assist you in learning how to better integrate conflicting traits and emotions, which often lead to self-blame, judgment and procrastination. By learning to embrace all aspects of the creative personality, we move towards self-acceptance and compassion for your self as an artist. We will explore those dynamics keeping you stuck as well as strengthen those that are working.

It takes courage to share your struggles with another. The art of therapy is providing a safe environment to take gradual and courageous steps towards personal growth. I offer a nurturing and non-judgmental approach to helping you take those steps safely and confidently, assisting you on the path towards reaching your creative potential and creating the life you desire.

For therapy to be effective, it is crucial to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with, but most importantly is a good match for you. Here are a few aspects while considering if I am the right therapist for you:

• You are highly motivated for personal change
• Have the courage to be forthright when it comes to examining your own challenges
• Eager to gain insight and self-awareness through this process
• Open to alternative perspectives when taking a deeper look at an issue
• Open to authentic transformation
• Willing to take responsibility for oneself
• Understands that therapy is collaborative and requires work on your part
• Willingness to go beyond your comfort zone in order to experience lasting change
• Have found therapy in the past to be productive to your personal growth

If this describes aspects of yourself and you are interested in discussing in more detail if I am the right therapist for you, call to schedule an initial session (626) 817-2278.
